About Us

Roaring Acres Alpacas is located in the beautiful town of Suffield, Connecticut. Situated on over 30 acres, Roaring Acres is home to huacaya and suri alpacas, a llama, painted desert sheep, mini horses, goats, mini donkeys, pigs, and a variety of ducks, chickens, and geese, including rare and heritage breeds. We have an on-site boutique with alpaca fiber products for sale. In addition, we are proud to be the home of Jake’s Bees! We truly enjoy being with the animals every day, rain (or snow!) or shine.

How to Find Us

The farm and boutique are located at 685 Hale Street, Suffield, CT. There is ample parking and farm access down the long driveway (not the residential driveway). There is a well and small sign at the end of the long driveway to help find where you are going. Please respect our privacy and do not enter the property during times that we are not open for public visits.

Visiting the Farm

Bring the family and hand feed the alpacas! Guests can enter the main pasture during our open hours, if they choose to do so, and can get an up-close experience with our animals. Current hours can be found below under “Hours and Special Events.” We have an on-site boutique filled with new and exciting products. Don’t forget to pick up fresh, pasture raised chicken and duck eggs (subject to availability), fresh produce, as well as local, raw honey from Jake’s Bees while you are visiting! Open Farm Days

During these hours, visitors are welcome to come to the farm and interact with our animals. Cancellations and updates to our hours will first be posted on our Facebook page, so be sure to take a look before visiting. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear; we are a working farm and it may be muddy and/or dirty.

WE WILL BE CLOSED DURING THE MONTH OF APRIL 2024 FOR RESEEDING OF PASTURES AND FARM MAINTENANCE AS WE PREPARE FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE SPRING AND THE SUMMER SEASONS. SCHOOL GROUPS, FIELD TRIPS AND OTHER PLANNED ACTIVITES WILL STILL TAKE PLACE DURING OUR CLOSURE.
